Electrical Transformers

CorkRubber Electrical Power Industry

The grades of CorkRubber manufactured by Amorim Industrial Solutions offers important benefits to the global Transformer and Switchgear Industry. We can provide solutions to the major applications in the following areas: Anti-Vibration and Sealing.

The resistance to the several types of oils commonly used in Transformers is obviously of primary importance, and the ability to seal the entire range (from Small Distribution to Large Power Transformers) on a long-term basis demonstrates the versatility of these materials. In Switchgear applications, the combination of top-quality polymers and cork granules will offer secure sealing performance in what has become a critical area.

All grades of CorkRubber are designed to provide important physical properties such as resistance to compression set, good conformance to imperfect flange surfaces, and long-term durability in all applications. Extremes of high and low service temperatures can be accommodated due to the variety of CorkRubber polymers available.

  • The following products are available for this application:

This is a firm nitrile material suitable for high / medium bolt pressure, with good flexibility and resilience. The physical characteristics along with good fuel, solvent and oil resistance, make this a high qualified material for industrial and transformer gaskets.
An economic grade CorkRubber which offers very good performance in sealing mineral based Transformer Oils at temperatures of -40 to 110 ºC.
An EPDM - based cork rubber material suitable for sealing Sulphur Hexafluoride Gas (SF6) at temperatures of -40 to 110 ºC. The excellent Compression Set / Recovery properties of GT-580 ensure maximum sealing performance.
A Nitrile Cork Rubber designed to give excellent sealing properties at medium bolt pressures in Mineral Oils with a temperature range of -10 ºC to 110 ºC
Cork/neoprene rubber blend, a firm material with high tensile and tear resistance, low compression set. Excellant heat resistance and moderate swell in fuels and oils.
A Cork Rubber with a dual-bider formulation (Neoprene/Nitrile), which gives excelent sealing performance in Mineral oils and protection against log term Ozone ageing and cracking. Approved for use with BS 148, Midel 7131 and Silicone Oils.
SCC-1350 is designed to seal mineral oils in Electrical Switchgear. It has excellent resistance to the temperatures typically seen in these applications (-20 to 110 ºC), and its slighty softer composition allows secure sealing on imperfect flange surfaces.
A Silicone Cork Rubber specifically formulated for the sealing of mineral oils at extremes of high and low temperature. SC-705 will operate sucessfully in temperatures of -50 C to 150 ºC.
