The Basics of Search

To enter a query into AIS Search forms, just type in a few descriptive words and hit the 'enter' key (or click on the Search button) for a list of relevant products. Since this search only returns products that contain all the words in your query, refining or narrowing your search is as simple as adding more words to the search terms you have already entered. Your new query will return a smaller subset of the products the Search found for your original "too-broad" query.

Search By Application - Home page

The Home page is a good place to start if you're not exactly sure which search keywords to use. For example, searching for [ gas ] within the Automotive > Engine Sealing category of the Application Directory returns only products about gas meter gaskets, while searching for [ gas ] within the Industry category returns only products about gas Industry related products. Searching within a category of interest allows you to quickly narrow in on only the most relevant products to you.

Choosing Keywords

For best results, it's important to choose your keywords wisely. Keep these tips in mind:

Try the obvious first. Use the Application Directory from our homepage. If you're looking for information on Gas Meters, Use the Application Directory starting from "Industry CorkRubber", rather than starting from "Heavy Duty Diesel".

Use words likely to appear on a products Material Data Sheet. Also "synthetic oil" gets better results than "good for synthetic engine oil and high temperature environments".

Make keywords as specific as possible. "good compression set" gets more relevant results than "Do not have a reasonable compression set".
